HELDLAW
    presents
There are 40 different species of dolphins;
bottlenose dolphins are the most common species.
Not all dolphins live in the sea;
there are 5 species of river dolphins.
Dolphins are mammals. Just like us, they have lungs
and cannot breathe underwater.
Dolphins do not breathe through the mouth; like
whales, they have a blowhole at the top of their head.
Dolphins can hold their breath for about 15 minutes
before they must surface to breathe.
Male dolphins are called "bulls", females "cows"
and young dolphins are called "calves".
Dolphins are very intelligent; they are known to teach,
learn, cooperate, scheme, and grieve.
Dolphins are highly social animals, often living in
'pods' of up to a dozen individuals.
Dolphins communicate using a variety of clicks,
whistle-like sounds and other vocalizations.
Dolphins also use nonverbal communication by
means of touch and posturing.
Dolphins have few natural enemies, but many are
endangered by pollution, fishing industry and hunting.
Thanks for watching. Please be nice to animals!
